Wow, these are great! I already had a pair of gloves with a leather strap meant to do the same thing as these, but I thought I'd try these out just to see the difference.
The other gloves work similarly, but there's still grip strength involved. They reduce tension on the grips, but still require it.
These are totally different. You can exercise a body part to the max without any worry about your grip holding you back. Deadlifts working the back and legs instead of the forearms. Pullups working the lats instead of just giving you callouses.
Solid construction too. You can tell these will last.
I hate to have to use these but my deadlift has gotten stronger than my hands and I have been feeling even like I might hurt myself deadlifting very heavy and having my form get thrown out of whack because one of my hands is slipping. I tried gloves, no gloves, wrist wraps but still after a couple reps of struggling with my grip the third or fourth rep was usually where they would fail. These things do the job very well. I still feel like I am using my hands but am not concerned about the bar slipping at all, which is so great. I feel like I can pay proper attention to my back, chest, timing, hip location, weight distribution, core tightness, knees, balance, head position and neck alignment. There is so much that goes into that quick lift and hands slipping is a factor I don't need to consider. These seem well made, heavy duty and comfortable, we'll see how they last.
I love to lift weights, but unfortunately my right arm ends at the wrist and I have no right hand. I was trying to figure out a way to dead lift, and I picked up these lifting hooks. After a couple minutes of getting used to them, I am dead lifting like a champ. These folks are so effective you don't even need hands to use them.
Very happy with these. I was trying to increase my weight in dumbbell rows, barbell rows, and deadlift, but my grip would keep giving out in my later sets. I could tell I still had the ability to lift the weight, but my grip would give. These have helped me progress in my workouts. They feel very sturdy. They also have not slipped on the bar, which I was initially worried about. Wish I bought these a long time ago.
