I bought this for health reasons. I LOVE ice cream, I could eat it every day, and it's not healthy. I wanted to be able to make my own and control fat/cholesterol and especially sugar content. I made my first batch using almond milk, almonds, vanilla, organic Xylitol sweeter, and bananas. It was DELICIOUS! It tasted more like gelato, because I didn't use cream, but I LOVE gelato too! I will most likely be making healthy ice creams, but I'll treat myself and use Half & Half once in a while. It's super easy to use and fun! ***Make sure you freeze the ice cream maker for 24 hours before first use!*** Just follow directions, especially cleaning directions - NOT dishwasher safe! This thing is idiot proof if you read the manual first. Comes with lots of good recipes and you can make up your own too. Another cool thing about it...now I can NEVER run out of ice cream, LOL!
I’m buying so many of these as gifts for all my friends and relatives if you look at the reviews of people complaining about it not making hard ice cream or not that much ice cream that’s not what it’s made for I simply put milk with chocolate milk and Oreos and make ice cream it’s anything goes. I even used a can of yahoo with Oreo cookies and you got ice cream yes it is soft serve but it’s very cool if you’re lactose intolerant tolerate the perfect solution don’t listen to the other reviewer’s it is the best thing I ever bought to make ice cream. And yes it does make it more like a soft serve ice cream but that to me is the best and if you like ice cream soup this is just for you which is the way I love my ice cream. The picture I added was simply one can of yoo-hoo with a splash of milk.
THIS THING IS AWESOME!!!! Absolutely love it. I am able to make even more than the 6 batches they suggest, it works so well. I was worried after reading reviews of people saying they could barely get one serving out of it but I can get plenty! The problem is with their freezer temperature, not the ice cream maker. If you are using a freezer attached to a fridge you need to have it on the coldest setting and it works perfectly. If you have it at a warmer setting it won't get cold enough to do more than one batch. So make sure your freezer is on the lowest setting (or as close to 0 degrees F as you can) and it works perfectly. Seriously best thing ever to make ice cream with!!
This has worked for me so far! I wanted a cold treat that was simple and limited ingredients because my digestive system has been very irritable to a variety of foods, even some healthy foods! So I saw this item on Prime Day and bought it!
I read the instructions, stuck the plate in my freezer and left it near 48hours in there but it says least 24. I read the recipes but I wanted simple. I bought some TruMoo Chocolate Milk. Poured 1/2 cup on the plate and left it maybe 20seconds, then just started to scrape and fold it. Voila! It worked! It was soft-serve eat within 10mins ice cream. I'm sure I could have placed it in a freezer insulated cup and it'd have kept.
Then the real test. I wanted some odd ice creams. I poured 1/2cup of LifeWay Kefir Chocolate Truffle on it. Did the same thing, and it worked again! I did not add sugar or use whole milk, or whatever. I'll be sure to try yogurts of various types and also have a jug of chocolate cashew milk I'm trying tomorrow.
